Lighthouses of the Outer Banks, North Carolina

The Outer Banks of North Carolina is one of the most peaceful and beautiful locations on the east coast. Besides its boundless beaches, delicious dining, and savory shopping; the outer banks is host to some of the most spectacular lighthouses in the United States. Currituck Beach, Roanoke Island Marshes, Bodie Island, Cape Hatteras, and Ocracoke Island Lighthouses are great for a day of exploration or a series of excursions when vacationing in the Outer Banks.
Most lighthouses are open year around or at least Spring through late Fall. Admission varies but some lighthouses are free. Children and senior citizens may possibly qualify for a discounted rate. The price is certainly a great value with the numerous experiences consisting of visitors centers, nature trails, museums, amazing views from the top of these incredible structures, and a glance into North Carolina's history.
